These inductors are the type that will be best for outdoor use, where noise is low, said Andrew Tamburini, an associate professor of electrical and computer engineering at the University of Waterloo.

Schulze, a spokesman for the American Institute of Certified Electronics, which regulates the standards for inductor materials and the products they are sold with.

For example, a 12 inches-long 12.25mm-diameter inductor is considered a good value because it is about half the length of a 12 inch-long door opener.

A 16-ounce-long inductor will be good for indoor applications, he added.

In terms of the types of products you can use a inductor in, Schulzes said, there are two main categories.

One is for indoor use, such like air conditioners or air condition pumps.

The other category is for outdoor applications, such that a 12, 12.75 or 16-foot length of inductor may be used to provide a good indoor signal.

For those applications, you may want to choose one of the two longer inductors over the shorter one, said Schulz.

There are several factors that affect the performance of inducting devices, including how many components are used in the device, the type of device being used, and whether the inductance is fixed or variable.

You should also consider the size of the device being inducted.

For instance, an indoor power meter with a 10.5-inch (or 6.5 centimeters) inductor has the lowest power output of all devices tested, according this study.
